' I am entirely certain that twenty years from now we will look back at education as it is practiced in most schools today and wonder how we could have tolerated anything so primitive.' John W Gardner
There is a planner on the ISTE conference site that is helpful and easy to use. You can search for sessions based on the name of the presenter, a specific category or time slot. As you are looking through sessions it is a good idea to add everything that piques your interest. You can narrow sessions from there. Regular sessions are on a first-come basis. Adding them to the planner is only for your convenience, but it does not guarantee you a seat. The Bring Your Own Laptop sessions, Opensource Labs, and other events require preregistration. Adding them to your planner is not the same thing as preregistering.
The ISTE planner allows you to add custom events that are not associated with the conference. For example, if you have a lunch meet up scheduled you can easily add it to your planner. You can also add all of the social events that you are interested in attending. You will be alerted with an icon on your planner if there is a scheduling conflict. There is nothing wrong with scheduling multiple sessions. Doing so will allow you to decide on the spot which sessions you want to attend. It will also provide a backup plan in case your first choice is too full or if it is not what you expected.
Don’t forget to schedule some down time as well. You need time to process what you have learned during the day. It is also perfectly acceptable to decide what you want to do as you go. It is not necessary to schedule every second of your day.
